Sclerotherapy
Spider veins and varicose veins are caused by broken valves in the vein. The most common causes are jobs that require individuals to stand for long period of time, pregnancy, and weight gain.
Spider veins and varicose veins appear in different shapes, sizes, and color.
Sclerotherapy is the treatment of varicose blood vessels and spider veins by the injection of an irritant which causes inflammation, coagulation of blood, and narrowing of the blood vessel wall.
This procedure treats blood vessel malformations and also those of the lymphatic system.
A medicine is injected into the vessels, which makes them shrink. It can be used on children and young adults with vascular or lymphatic malformations.
Spider and varicose veins respond to therapy in about 4 weeks, and larger veins respond in about 4 months. However, new veins may appear over time, and if needed, you may return for additional injections.
